How to unlock your potential: Just start
"Talking about doing something is one thing. Doing it is another. No one had ever tried anything like this before. Not at this kind of distance. The public perception of a man in a wheelchair was a man who was helpless or at least severely limited. I was being blocked by the very misunderstandings I was going out to correct." - on deciding to push my wheelchair around the world.
Today, 31 years ago, I started my Man In Motion World Tour and made my big dream a reality. As I reflect on the anniversary, I feel grateful that I was able to just start despite all the voices in my head telling me my dream was impossible. I know there are millions of people in the world today with their own dreams who are struggling to get started.
I want to thank our supporters, the original team who made the Tour possible, and each and every one of you who care about removing barriers for people with disabilities. Thank you helping to build a global movement that will liberate the potential of people with disabilities in Canada and around the world!
