Every year, starting on the last Sunday in May, Canadians celebrate National AccessAbility Week (NAAW). This week is an opportunity to celebrate the valuable contributions and leadership of Canadians with disabilities, and with these resources, you can bring the conversation to your elementary school or class.
This year, National AccessAbility Week will take place from May 28 to June 3, 2023. Join us in recognizing Canadians with disabilities by booking an RHFSP Ambassador Presentation for your class, using our free lesson plans, starting the day with morning announcements on disability awareness, or sharing the 'On the Move' digital storybook.
Ambassador Presentations
With a diversity of vision, hearing and mobility disabilities, the Rick Hansen Foundation Ambassadors create personal connections and challenge stereotypes through virtual presentations to your class, school or community group. Request a free National AccessAbility Week presentation for your class!
Morning Announcements
With an announcement idea for each day, these brief facts about NAAW and disability awareness will help you keep the conversation going all week long with your students.
