Winterproof wheelchair allows paraplegic dog to weather the storm
Getting around in the snow can be tricky for wheelchair users, but not for Natasha, a paraplegic German shepherd who knows a thing or two about survival.
We ran into Natasha and her owner in Whistler, B.C. during a recent snow storm and were immediately impressed with her wheelchair, which is fit with winter tires for getting around in the snow.
Natasha's owner explained that losing the use of the dog's legs wasn't the only challenge they had overcome. Several years ago, Natasha was diagnosed with cancer, which began a two-year battle to fight the disease.
After chemotherapy and treatment, and with a clean bill of health, she was tragically attacked by another dog, leaving her without the use of her legs.
Thanks to her amazing owner, Natasha was rehabilitated and given a new lease on life as a wheelchair user.
Her story is proof that with a lot of love and a couple snow tires, anything is possible.
